WAELE/ARCELFA 2017 INTERNATIONAL PEACE SUMMIT ON ‘THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN PEACE & CONFLICT RESOLUTION IN AFRICA
WAELE/ARCELFA 2017 INTERNATIONAL PEACE SUMMIT ON ‘THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN PEACE & CONFLICT RESOLUTION IN AFRICA’’ 3RD – 4TH NOVEMBER 2017 @ DOUBLETREE BY HILTON OYSTER BAY, DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA.
In continuation of WAELE/ARCELEFAPEACE efforts in Africa, WAELE/ARCELEFA is organizing a PEACE Summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from 3rd to 4th November, 2017 with the theme ‘THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN PEACE & CONFLICT RESOLUTION IN AFRICA.’’ The Summit is hinged on the fact that though women and girls suffer more from violent conflicts and that their experiences differ from those of men and boys, they are largely invisible regarding conflict management and peace building initiatives and mechanisms. This is not because women or girls are unable to engage with violent conflicts for any biological or structural reason, but their participation is hampered as a result of cultural and other barriers.
In view of the emerging trends in advocating for Women and Girls concerns as enshrined in the United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325 on Women, Peace and Security, WAELE/ARCELEFAPEACE 2017 Summit is expected to help draw the attention of all stakeholders to the magnitude of the challenges confronting women and girls, as well as create a platform for high level discourse and strategic interventions on current issues affecting them globally.
African Women should be part of PEACE negotiation, Peace Mediation and Rehabilitation. Join us in Dar es Salaam.
